Jeremy Brust is of counsel in Best Best & Krieger LLP’s Irvine and Los Angeles offices and is a member of the firm’s Environmental Law & Natural Resources practice group. Jeremy’s practice focuses on real estate development, environmental and land use law, and government permitting.

Jeremy works with public agencies and private entities in all areas of land use and construction, with a particular emphasis on the California Environmental Quality Act. Jeremy’s experience covers the full spectrum of the CEQA process, including project planning, entitlement applications, procedural requirements, drafting and review of CEQA documents, coordination with public agencies and interested parties, and litigation and appeals.

Jeremy has advised and represented local, regional and international clients in a wide range of settings, and is well-versed in the land use decision-making process. He brings that experience to bear in helping public agencies, private developers and institutional clients navigate California’s complex permitting and regulatory laws. Jeremy also assists clients with public outreach and project approval strategies. Jeremy’s experience includes educational, residential, commercial, mixed-use and office tower projects, often in charged political environments with high visibility.

In addition to CEQA compliance and litigation, Jeremy has significant experience with design and construction contract administration and claims, real estate transactions, eminent domain, California Coastal Act compliance, redevelopment, voter initiatives, affordable housing, and appellate law and practice.
